RBC GranFondo Whistler
September 12, 2020
The Sea-to-Sky highway that winds up the mountains from Vancouver to Whistler is one of the most scenic drives in Canada. What better way to experience that natural beauty than from a bike. An epic 122km long with an elevation of 1900m, this is an amazing challenge for cycling fanatics.
For those that are keen to get involved but not quite ready for the full ride, RBC GranFondo Whistler also offers a 55km ride that starts and ends in Whistler. For those serious enthusiasts, there is also a 152km ride that includes an extra 876m climb up Cypress Mountain. Along the route, there are lots of rest stops with food and drinks for riders and a great place for spectators to wait and watch. Spectators are also encouraged to be at the finish line cheering the riders on. Once the epic ride is complete, there are celebrations at Olympic Plaza in Whistler with food, drinks and music; the perfect way to end the day and celebrate with family and friends. For those children who are showing an interest in biking, there is also the iRide Jam where children can work with an instructor to learn new skills.
